Well it depends on how mcuh u r going to do: ......
100 & up - every other day
75 & down- everyday
that is wut i do !*! but i do 500 crunches everyday but and 75pushups everyday that is my work out but if i want to take it easy i do 1000 crunches and 150 pushups every other day + take a 1 Aday Weight smart

Push ups will help tone your chest, but you won't get huge pecks doing them like you would using the bench press. So they're good to do just to tone up. Toning excersises you can do everyday, for any muscel, because you're not straining it with a lot of weight.

I just finished a rigorous training academy. The physical fitness instructors said every other day for pushups, situps are okay every day. Our program was every other day and we pushed until we couldn't go anymore.

Every day, because it isn't a rigorous, intense workout of a single muscle in isolation as if you were doing bodybuilding properly.

From what I understand its okay to do it every day. And abs are the only muscle that you can continue to work out even if its sore.
