Excellent question! For the most part, you cannot! From the Arminian standpoint, if Uncle Joe has a choice, by definition God cannot affect that choice, and we may as well be praying to Uncle Joe. On the Calvinist side, since God has preordained only His own to salvation, we are asking an almighty God to change an eternal decree. The only ones that can pray for the unsaved would be the semi-Pelagians who claim that God works in conjunction with man's will. So if you're asking how to pray for them, I'd go with being semi-Pelagian, which might be a Catholic belief, I'm not sure.

Pray the Holy Rosary, This Gives Mary intercessory power to save lost souls. After each decade you say the glory be and then say " oh my Jesus forgive us our sins. Save us from the fire of hell and lead all souls to Heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy. You can also pray the Divine Mercy prayer on the Rosary Which Jesus Gave to Sister Faustina to save souls.

You could join me and some others who are praying a prayer like this one for the lost who are going to go out and try to find enjoyment in the party life tomorrow night.

It is my hope that as many are standing there with their drinks and their drugs that the Lord will awaken them. That they will suddenly realize that it's just the same old same old and not really all that much fun. That they will go home early feeling disatisfied with the party life and that their hearts will be prepared for the invitation that God will extend to them to come to Him, in Jesus' name, amen!

Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

See those lost souls through the eyes of God who told Paul that He had many people in the notorious town of Corinth.

Acts 18:9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: 10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

O Lord our God, be merciful to those who do not yet know you, who are taken captive by the Devil to do his will. As they go forth into the night seeking the pleasures of sin, let them have ashes in their mouths and let their minds be opened to the hollowness of their path that leads to the yawning pit of the grave. Remove the veil of darkness from their minds and let them have no joy till they find it in Christ in whose name we pray, Amen!

My Dad was a hard man to talk to, and never wanted to talk about God. My Sister told me to give up on him because there was no hope. I never quit praying that God would save him. For years I never left him out of my prayers, even though at times I wondered if he would ever be saved.

At 85 years old he gave his life to Jesus Christ. So my advice is never give up on someone you are praying for, even though it looks useless. God knows our hearts and wants, He wants us to pray for lost friends and family. I just added in my prayers words like this," Father please save my, Brothers, Sisters, and Mom and Dad" Just talk to God like his ear is right in front of your mouth, he hears every word.

Wrong question. Right question: why should you pray? Right answer: there is no reason to do so.
