I sold a car two years ago and today a guy called me who says he is buying the car but the person does not have a current title. He wants me to sign this title again as the seller for him. He says if I don't, I will have to pay the sales tax from the past 2 years. Just what do you think is going on here? What should I do? Is it really my problem?

'if" you signed the title over when you sold the car..not your problem at all. The person you sold the car to may not have registered the car...that's on them...you haven't paid taxes or registered the car in 2 years. Don't worry about it.

Nothing he can do. I hope you filled out a bill of sale and kept it...although...it should be on the title also.

And one other thing you said...he want's you to sign the title again...as he has the title...but the other person never registered it...screw them...you are not obligated.

I know this sounds trite, but you probably should consult a legal professional about this; it doesn't sound right to me.

It's a scam, don't sign anything.
