She just told me that she made an online puchase w/ the card (it has NO money on it) and it went through. Are they going to send it or what? The visa buxx card is reloaded from my credit card so will they charge me?

My son is 13 and also has a Visa Buxx card. He's very careful with the balance and doesn't charge over the amount he has, but if he did it would be charged to my checking account.

Go to the Visa Buxx website (we have Wachovia) and suspend the card. It only takes 1 click.

For those not familiar with Visa Buxx it's a very handy tool for allowances and cash gifts. No money to lose, no impulse spending on a candy bar.

But what I like the most is my son is very used to having a "credit card" and the idea that it's not free money.

Hopefully he won't be one of the people who goes crazy with credit card spending and bankruptcy.

starman brings up a good point here. I have to agree with him to a certain degree. The correct way would have been to go to an atm and withdraw cash and pay cash. Still it's done and even if you were caught, you wouldn't have gotten into any trouble. It's just not serious enough. Technically I don't see any judge in any court NOT seeing it as borrowed money because that's really what it was. So although the card was in a minor's name, the purchase was made legally with borrowed money by an adult. You were 21 but using borrowed money from a 20 year old? Not serious enough to convince anyone in the business of a major infraction of the law.

Yes they will charge your credit card for the purchase and send the package....unless you call VISA and stop the payment from processing, then they will inevitably stop the package.

That is a question I suggest calling the company you get the cards from.

No, they won't send anything. Call the bank and merchant.
