That is correct but I read and heard that drinking 1-2 glasses of wine a day helps the heart not beer. If you a lot of any alcoholic beverage it can hurts the liver along with the heart.

I would ask myself who is doing the recommending. And the way you present it, it sounds like you need to drink 1-2 glasses of alcohol a day for heart health. This is riduculous! Oatmeal, even Cheerios, is best for your heart. So is exercise for the cardiovascular system to be healthy.
Alcohol needs to be changed into a non-toxic substance in your body and this is carried out by your liver. Your liver also has to clean your blood from other toxins that you ingest all day long (from smog to the pesticides on your vegetables to the acetominophen/Tylenol that you take for pain). Why tax it even more with alcohol? And after 10, 20, or even 30 years of drinking alcohol, plus all the other toxins taken in, the adverse affects would be quite alot!

They reccomend a glass of red wine a day. Beer doesn't have the same healthy heart properties that red wine has, so just remember that. One glass with food will not hurt your liver. You can also get a non alcoholic wine if you are worried about it and they say red grape juice is just as good. good luck.

I suppose it depends on how large those glasses are. One or two six ounce glasses a day is probably more than you need to receive the health benefits of moderate wine consumption. However, one or two six ounce glasses per day will not have a negative affect upon a normal healthy liver

One or two glasses of wine or beer a day are not harmful to your liver. Moderation is the key word here. A liter or two of Wild Turkey a day is another matter.

It's only recommended that you drink red wine, not beer. It could have an adverse affect on your liver if you are already suffering from some pre-existing illness or medication that could interact with the alcohol.

Such amounts are easily handled by the liver. And protects the heart. Larger quantities may damage the heart or liver.
