Yes it is okay to feed them raw chicken; many show breeders feed what is known as a BARF diet; which consists of raw food; particulary chicken.

I don't myself feed a BARF diet; except for an occasional satin ball (which is raw hamburger meat mixed with a variety of nutrients). I DO feed mine COOKED chicken with no worries about the bones for my dogs; of course the younger and smaller ones get the bones REMOVED but the large breeds get the whole piece of chicken and I've never had a problem with the bones splintering.

Most Dog Food really isn't all that good for your dog anyways; if you really read the labels and understand what you are reading; most of the nutrients are zapped out of the original food and what little if any meat in there is usually just a ground up by product such as necks; innards; etc. But there are some really good dog foods out there that are a little pricey that are made from oven baked dry kibble and then coated in ground up raw meat.

This is one of the biggest myths of all time! Raw chicken bones are fantastic for your dog. They are soft enough so that they bend easily, and break well for the dog to digest.
On the other hand, cooked chicken bones can be a problem, and I recommend that you DON'T feed COOKED chicken bones.

Some people are worried about their dog choking on bones. While such incidents are very rare (far more incidents occur with dogs choking on kibble), I encourage the feeding of bigger portions of meaty bones, or if available, whole carcasses, such as whole chickens or rabbits.

So could a raw chicken bone kill a dog? Well I guess that anything is possible. Certainly scientifically you can't prove a negative argument. However what we do know is that dogs have died from inhaling kibble the wrong way and choking and suffocating to death.

Feeding your dog is about management of risk. No matter which path you decide to take there is always risk. There is always someone who will criticise your decision. However you, and only you can decide what is best for your dogs. Weigh up all the benefits and risks. Do your own analysis. Do your research. Do what will have the greatest overall benefit for your dog.

Raw chicken is perfectly fine for your dog.
You do not have to worry about salmonella in a normal healthy dog it will be fine. Dogs intestinal tract is set up to handle that type of stuff with no problems.
You cna safely feed bones in raw chicken. As long as you do not cook it the bones are fine. If cooked they can splinter and perferate the intestine.
Google Bones and raw food diet for dogs and read some of the great information about feeding a raw diet to your dog.

If raw food makes you sick, why would you feed it to your dog? I will not feed my dog any uncooked meat, fowl or fish. I won't even feed my dog raw eggs.

I don't understand why people do this. But then, I don't understand why people do a lot of things to their animals and each other.

Never feed any animal raw chicken, salmonella and other types of bacteria. Even raw beef is now questionable because of mad cow disease.
