Congratulations for quitting smoking! Excessive coughing, even after a few weeks of being quit, is completely natural. What's happening is all the gunk that has built up over time in your lungs is starting to loosen, which is causing you to cough. Chances are you will start to cough some of this stuff up. Don't worry! This whole process, even if uncomfortable at times, is part of your body beginning to clear itself out of toxins and phlegm. You may want to try some breathing exercises for relaxation. A hot bath will soothe body aches. Also, steam is very good for congestion. Your body has its own time-frame for returning to normal. It all depends on how long you smoked and how much you smoked. Be patient with it! You're on the right track. If the situation continues to concern you, talk to your doctor.

No, it's probably not ADHD - Internet isn't a reliable tool for diagnosis. People like to think that some Ritalin or others amphetamines will make their life better - and allow themselves to live unhealthy lives hoping the drugs will compensate. Sleeping disorders can be caused by lots of things - you should probably wait until you have solved all others issues or have them under control. Its origins could be as varied as anxiety, or other psychiatric issues, your spinal pain, psychological problems, a bad diet, etc. In any case, you should stop smoking marijuana definitely. It may seem like it's helping, but it isn't really and it will make your life worse - while giving you the opposite impression. Yes, smoking with friends once in a while, that happens, but doing it regularly isn't good at all. Oh and you should go to a doctor. There are "sleep doctor" which are specialised in sleep-related problems. You should also check your scoliosis - depending on how pronounced it is, it can have lots of effects on your health, including to heart problems (which can cause sleeping disorders, or trouble focusing) in mildly severe to severe cases. You don't need to go necessarely to a hospital, you could go to your regular physician, and he could direct you best to the appropriate doctor.

I don't think anyone who smokes will ever fully heal and feel like they did before they started. I don't know. But, you'll probably stop coughing soon.

Never smoked, probably never will. My mom, grandma and grandpa on my mom's side smoked, my grandma cut down, and so did my grandpa, I think. So did my grandpa on my dad's side, but he quit and he's still got a bit of a breathing problem and has to take an inhaler everyday, since I last saw him.

But glad to know that someone else is also saving their life by kicking the habit.

It will subside more and more as time goes by. Usually, it will be gone when you can get up in the morning, take a nice deep breath of clean, crisp air and not cough. It varies for each person, but it took me about 6 weeks. The first time I could do that though was COOL.

I salute you. I keep trying to quit but I am not doing such a great job. You will probably cough up all that crap for alittle while longer but not to long. You should start breathing better pretty soon and not running out of breath if you run. I am proud of you and I dont even know you. Keep up your will power and dont even try one.
