I have seen figures as high as 1.5 million metric tonnes annually. This seem really high, but so does 148 billion 2 liter bottles of carbonated beverages per year in the USA alone. (see second site).

This does not add to the global warming greenhouse gases because it is recycled. This carbon dioxide is originally extracted from the atmosphere.
