I am asumming that you are talking about the christian religion. In which case god was made up of thought and not born in any specific location for nothing was made before god he was the first and last. which unfortunately makes no sence at all for if he was made up of thought someone would have to be there to think.
Really god was born in the bible by the man whom ever that may have been who started the bible and concept of a god. Before then there was other gods who people made to look up to and believe was watching over them so that the people would be good and not do things that are imoral. And to solve the ancient question where do we go when we die. They made god to help people cope with family dieing or even themselves dieing. Think about it if your mother died it puts you at ease to know she went somewhere nice than to know that here sole left her body and went either into a resicled ( I can't spell ) or went somewhere else entirely.
