make her a scrap book or album of pictures of you two together over the past year.
if you don't have many pictures, then buy a camera and start creating memories
make one gift a "bigger" one and the other less... maybe a new scarf, hat, and mittens or something ... (i am from Maine, so that would be appropriate)
well i am tired now so i am out of suggestions... good luck.

my 1 year anniversary is 2 days before X mas to!
I just took him to Cali. on a fishing trip for his birthday, so i don't know what to get him either. But my suggestion to you is, if you have been dating for so long you should know what she likes by now. Why don't you get her a gift that is unique and thoughtful? Something that goes along with her hobbies. Like my boyfriend likes fishing so i took him on a deep sea fishing trip. It dosen't have to be that expensive though. What ever you do don't do that blah blah normal crap, like flowers or jewlery it's so common.

Get her something that SCREAMS thoughtful and is REALLY cheap. I once saw on a show that a guy picked up a map of the stars and "gave away" one of the stars to his girlfriend (turned out to be a massive black hole, but for the time that it lasted his girlfriend went nuts). I think I deserve best answer =)

Tickets to a concert? Or if that's too expensive, maybe make a CD with songs that you both really like on it. Jewellery usually goes down well.

Think about something that makes her happy. If it is flowers, then go to www.proflowers.com and send her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. I always love it when my bf sends me flowers, just makes me think he is thinking about me. A simple gift is sometimes better than the most expensive ones.

Well if you run out of material things to give her you could always take her somewhere cool or do something really fun or sentimental that you think she'd like. Or you could get her 5 small presents, one for each sense. ie. something she can taste, something she can smell, something she can listen to, etc and make a game out of it.

if you want a promise ring, they are meant for highschool sweethearts so they can be cheaper then what you would think, or even a neclace, a locket, she will be pleased. it would be very sentimental and that says alot
