All Christian faith is based on Catholicism, rituals are the only difference. They all believe in Christ as the savior and the Holy trinity. However they all come from the Catholic church.

I dont suggest going to a denomination. I highly recommend going to a non-denomination because they are not controlled by a central church govt.
If you read the NT you will find the ultimate ruler of the church is Jesus and the next higher authority are counsels which are spirit-led but there is no blueprint for a central church govt. and that system has caused many O problems in the past.
Church of Christ/Christian Church is pretty solid. We believe the blueprints for church are written right in Scripture and we have no creed but Christ. We teach salvation by grace through faith in Jesus and baptism for the forgivness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Cmon in and visit! See if Gods will is not done there!

There are SO many branches of Christianity! If you lean toward bells and smells seek out a Catholic, Lutheran, or an Episcopal Church. If you want a more conservative church theologically (The most important this is that Jesus Died and rose again), seek out a Baptist, or 'Bible' church. If you want a more liberal theology (the most important thing is that we live the way Jesus taught us to live) seek out a United Church of Christ or a Disciples of Christ Church. If you want to shout and sing find a Pentacostal or AME church. If you are Gay, find a Metropolitan Community Church. The best way to find a community is just to visit a bunch and see where you 'connect.'

you can go to beliefnet.com, they even have a quiz that might help you narrow it down. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and I love it. I did a lot of research and visiting before I made the decision. Good Luck!

Here's the difference:
Some old guy (or gal) decided that their slightly different interpretation of the bible was better than someone else's slightly different interpretation of the bible, and were able to convince other people to follow their view or risk the wrath of God for not being devoted to the "truth."
Yet none of them realized that their source is a book of propaganda that some even OLDER dudes compiled to keep the masses in line with THEIR views.

denominations are like music. different people like different music but its still music. Same here all the denominations worship the same god they are just different styles. just go to different ones untill you find one that suites you.
