I always use deodorant once a day... It's so I won't have sweat stains on my shirts. I've seen those, and they're very unflattering...
As for whether deodorant is safe or not, I suppose this page would be of interest to you:
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-dangers-of-aluminum-zirconium.htm
Quote:
"Aluminum levels in Americans is on the rise. Yet we absorb the most aluminum through water and processed food, not through our skin from hygiene products. Both the National Institute of Environmental Health and the National Institute of Health are working to lay to rest these exaggerated and fallacious rumors circulating on the internet by educating people on how scientists establish links between environmental factors and disease. High levels of aluminum do not necessarily cause disfunction."
Sounds quite like common sense to me.

I would hope that most people use anti-perspirant as it will save the pain of having stinky sweat -smelling clothes! You never use it? Are you 11? LOL. Most people have to wear one form or another every single day. You're lucky if you don't--and make sure that you don't stink. :p

You have to start using deodorant everyday, thats part of hygene. Find one that is antiperspirant and deodorant. Change brands every 6 months so the effect doesnt wear out. If you use the same brand a lot, you can start to smell and have sweat patches in you shirt.

It is very dangerous to use any repressent for any abnormality so called disease. Any discharge from the body like diarrhea, perspiration, nasal discharge, vaginal bleeding etc. are in the direction of natural healing. A remedy is to be administered to match the total symptoms of the patient to restore his health in totality and not in certain specific organs alone. Such a remedy is only in HOMOEOPATHIC science. Since the patients are different, the remedies may be different.
In the present question of using deodorant and anti-perspiring, you can easily observe that the person in question is sick. Ask him about his wellness starting from mind including his dreams/nightmares to his toes and including his modalities of likes and dislikes. His presentation will be full of abnormalities called symptoms, For example; hungry but cannot eat (Lyco. etc); mouth wet and full of saliva but still very thirsty (Merc.Sol.) mouth dry but no thirst (Pulsatilla); very sleepy but gets up from suffocation as soon as he falls to sleep (Lachesis)
SOLUTION? Get HOMOEOPATHICALLY treated and be HEALTHY in TOTALITY .

most stores sell a combination of both - deoderant and anti-prespirant. I personally use a product that has both during the summer- but when the winter hits ( or just a cool day) I don't bother with it at all. it seems to me that most people use a deoderant daily- it's the american thing to do.

depends what situation
if you do sports or something that requires a lot of activity that makes the glands produce sweat > anti perspirant
deodorant kills the smell causing bacteria, but doesn't stop the sweat
i use anti-perspirant
with deodorant soap
the health pros recommend deodorant though
=P

most people who bother to use it at all would buy the cheapest on the day
for real figures you'd need to contact a supplier/manufacturer
personally i use citric acid-costs $1 a box no smell-no sweat
use sparingly or you can get a rash
p.s.if type that has aluminium in it ,can be harmful to health-mostly due to onset of dementia

I use it, so do most americans. As for health effects, I hear that anti perspirants can increase your risk of breast cancer.

I use a deodorant... t'other tends to irritate
However, if they could sort out some air-conditioning on the tube (even in winter) I wouldn't be so worried about not using it ;)
