its not terrible but to miminize injury you should always stretch to loosen your muscles and also get your blood pumping

It is better to do the stretches,( in warm up) before you exercise.

both they recommend you stretch before to loosen cold muscles and after wards to keep them form getting sore

don't stretch on cold muscles, jog for a few minutes ,then stretch.
Stretch also afterwards
