I've really noticed for a couple of years that whenever I'm nervous, or stressed, or even bored at times, I'll start picking my eyebrows and eyelashes. I'm sure it sounds really wierd, but I pick the hairs and rub them between my fingers to calm down...like it relaxes me somehow, and then I flick them away and continue doing whatever I'm doing. When I feel myself doing it...I want to stop...but I cant. Sometimes my eyelashes have big gaps in them cause I only pick one side, and my eyebrows also have missing gaps too.

Does this sound serious? Does anyone or at least anyone else at least know someone who does this too?

It's actually a relatively common disorder called trichotillomania, and it is treatable. It can get serious if not checked. If you've been at it for a couple years, you really need to see a doc. Good luck!

p.s. My sister had it. She lost a lot of her hair and it never grew back, same with eyebrows. Other problems can be infections. You should also get help for the anxiety underneath that causes you to do it - that can get serious too, hair or no hair.

I did that when I was a kid. It's easy to understand now why. My parents were fighting at the time, eventually leading to separation and divorce. I would've never thought of it then, but it seems so obvious now that it was some sort of stress-induced behaviour.

Maybe something stressful is happening to you behind the scenes that's affecting you, but you're not really considering now.

It's bad, but it's not unusual. We have idioms in the English language about pulling out hair in frustration and whatnot.

It is a common anxiety disorder. An antidepressant usually helps in a week or two, Zoloft or Luvox are good.
