I've downloaded a movie and I want to burn it onto disc to player on my DVD player. By clicking on Properties it says the file type is Video Clip. Are there any free programs I could download that can convert this to a format that can play on a DVD player (I know my DVD player can read CD-Rs).

I recommend you use Nero.
With Nero, you can create whatever video cds and dvds providing you have their recorders. in the latest version of NERO i.e. v7 if you open it you see a dialog box that gives you diferent option of tasks that you might want to do like copying cds, to creating different kinds of cds (mp3s, audio, data, video, wma etc) including dvds also. Remember for you to burn a cd. you must either have a CD-Writer(or CD-ReWriter) or DVD equivalent.
