ok, i recently downloaded a program and it turnt out to be a viris filled.
now my computer is telling me about "malware" and spyware..
where can i get a FREE program to get rid of these viris's?

Download a FREE version of McAfee or Norton Antivirus.

You most likely have a Smitfraud desktop hijacker infection. Most "general purpose" antivirus and antispyware programs cannot touch it, as you may have already found out.
Removal will likely require a semi-manual procedure.
There are 2 widely used procedures:
Using SmitfraudFix:

Smitfraud is a nasty one that is going to require some work on your part. You probably won't find a software that you can download, push a "magic button" and have it just dissapear!

Your computer is not telling you anything. The thing telling you is spyware. Ironic Huh? Anyway google spybot search and destroy and adware they will remove 90 per cent of the junk for free

What antivirus did you download? What ever you don't download Norton or Mcafee they are both crap!
Try http://www.avast.com/
I swear by this program I have 4 computers with Avast on it and I have never had a problem it picks up viruses right away on any site.

and go to
Trendmicro do a free virus scan to supplement what your currently running.Stay away from McAfee, that software is no good. Norton is a good choice.
