p.s. The Americans can speak for themselves, but in my country wife beating is assault and battery and people are jailed for it.

Probably about the time muslim women take the laws into their own hands and start picking up the cast iron frying pans! A few raps up side the head would do a lot of muslim men a world of good!

When will wife beaters of all races, religions, and cultures accept that this is cowardly and unacceptable? It isn't just Muslims, and it's definitely not all Muslims, and it's really not a religious issue at all. Go to a women's shelter here in the U.S. and you'll see it's a widespread problem that covers all cultures, races, and religions.
Stop trying to stir up trouble.

One of my best friends is a Muslim man who wouldn't raise a hand to anyone, except perhaps someone who tried to hurt his family. It's not all. The Bible holds some pretty radical stuff in regard to how to treat women and children, too. And some Christians still follow it - to the point where they believe in switching infants, etc. Granted, it's not as widespread. But it's there. It's not all or none, and I believe that's how your question is presented.

There is a misconception in the west that Muslim men are wife beaters.I am Muslim and I can honestly say I dont know of any family member , friend or nebigour that was ever abused my theire husbands.
In America voilence agaist women by a spouse or family member is more comman then in the middle east.

who told u that beating means to beat violantly?and who gave u the right to defend islam and u obviously know nothing about it ?? and u just spread filthy ideas about it ?? talk about things u know better and leave the religion to those who believe in it!!

beating means by the simple stick , very simple so that to make the woman woke up and knows that she have mistaken , it is not a way for insult or bad treating rather than it is a way for correcting her behaviour, between a man and his wife and it isnot a genaral rule , that any man , beat any woman that would be stupid,

Quran Sura 4:34
"Men are the managers of the affairs of women for that God has preferred in bounty one of them over another, and for that they have expended of their property. Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding the secret for God's guarding. And those you fear may be rebellious admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them. If they then obey you, look not for any way against them; God is All high, All great."
Bukhari Hadith Volume 7 #715 also condones wife beating.
Wife beating in Islam is firmly established as legal in the Quran and Hadith. ISLAM....RELIGION OF PEACE!!!
Although wife beating exists outside of the law in Western democracies, in Islam it is the LAW. No Muslim male can be punished in Sharia law for beating his wife.

In my opinion as long as you have the Koran which was written by a false prophet that wrote the words that promote these atrocities it will continue. Muslims deserve what they get because they support and condone these atrocities against their own people, we cannot feel sorry for a people that are simply blind to a belief that is so obviously a violent violation toward mankind.

well for your information. all Scholars have agreed that it doesn't say beat the **** out of them!! it means barely touch her on her shoulder not punch her in the face.
this is already understood by all Muslims and we have no problem with it.
go check on the American women who get raped and beaten to death every day.
