First start by teaching your dog to walk backwards by voice command only to start off. You can try treat and a clicker or what ever else you have been doing as a reward to teach your dogs previous tricks. Once your dog has the walking backwards down path then you can try to walk over her backwards in a straight line to get her use to it with voice command. Then when you have that down path you can start the crisscrossing motion. If you have ever watch others do it you will notice that often it is the person who is moving from side to side to allow the dog to walk backwards in between the legs so the dog is actually walking backwards in a straight line.
Basically it is doing it by small steps one trick at a time starting with the easiest first and up grading and adding on to the first trick you teach the dog. Patience and treats and reward along with praises when you see improvement will keep the dog willing to learn and learn some more. If you get impatient then it's not fun for the dog and he simply will not want to do. Keep it fun for both you and the dog. If he trips you do not get upset tell your dog it's ok and try again!
Good luck!

OK I would start with your dog facing the same as direction you. Make sure you have treats in your pocket. Have a friend stand in front of your dog, (make sure the dog is on a leash so (s)he doesn't try to go around your legs.) and have your friend walk forward and the dog will automatically walk backwards. Your dog may want to shoot around your legs, so keep the leash short. While he is doing this use a certain command every time, it needs to be the same command so your dog does not get confused. Keep practicing this and praise him every time, even if he doesn't go through your legs. He will learn it with lots of praise and treats.
Soon you will not need a friend he will do it on his own with a command. This takes a lot of Patience. Hope it works!!

Go to a pet store, there may be some training DVDs you can buy.
