I was diagnosed with OCD two years ago and my therapist prescribed paxil and buspar. The paxil itself hardly did anything but they added the buspar because I had anxiety and it's helped a lot. Talk to your therapist about your choices. I've heard paxil has done wonders for some people and others not so much. Also talk to your therapist about the OCD and why you have it. What areas of your life has it affected. Knowledge plays a big key in recovery. When you know why you are doing something it helps you find other ways to deal with it. Medication can not cure it nothing can. All you can do is manage it. It's 40% medication and 40% therapy. And the rest you just have to deal with. Most mental disorders are that way.

Any antidepressant should help. OCD is probably inherited and there is usually no use in trying to figure out why you have it. I believe only medication can help. Wellbutrin has less sexual side effects. Zoloft is safe. You can read about them here:
