http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/ works, but it's much easier to either just turn on automatic updates or just use Internet Explorer for it.

Firefox > IE though, by far.

I doubt that you truly removed Internet Explorer, because Internet Explorer is an integral part of Windows. If you open up My Computer or the Control Panel or your C:/, you are using Internet Explorer. Actually removing Internet Explorer is a large-scale task that requires computer know-how if you want to do it without ruining your Operating System. Try running the updates by going to Start -> Windows Update. If you actually did go through all that work in truly getting rid of IE, then I can't help you (other than suggesting doing a web search for Windows Updates).

I have to use Internet Explorer to update Windows. Maybe somebody else knows a way. Just download IE, it's free.

You do not have my of a choice. The windows update feature only works with IE5+.

However, you can go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx?displaylang=en and manually download the fix. They do not make it easy though.

If you turn out auto updates, they will get the patches. But, they are supposed to be pushing IE7 starting on 11/1 so beware if you do not like IE. I downloaded it and so far so good.

Try using this if you don't want to do a Windows Update.
