I was just looking on the web and came upon some info on Constitutional Growth delay, I was wondering if anyone has any growth problems with their children too? My daughter is 6 and she is almost as tall as my 8 yr old, plus my son has yet to lose his front teeth(they are finally loose) So, my question is, can it be he is a slow starter or something more? (The growth chart since birth says he's been a steady 10 %)Please help,Thanks

I was almost 10 lbs when I was born, and was the smallest in my classes at school as well. When I turned 15, I hit a growth spurt. I'm now 6'1, 200 lbs, so don't be too concerned. I didn't lose my first tooth until I was 7 as well. Some people just develop at different stages. If you are really concerned, I would take him to a doctor, but I don't think you really have anything to worry about.

My eight year old just now has loose front teeth. She is slightly over 48 inches tall, and still weighs about 40 pounds. She is very active, and has little interest in food, except sweets, which we limit. I refuse to let her replace sweets for appropriate caloric/nutritional intake. She likes pickles, cucumber, carrots, nori (seaweed), and apples. Once in a while she will sit down and eat an adult size portion of steak or other meat, but that is maybe once or twice a week. Go figure, we have a nice, balanced dinner every night, and sometimes insist she eat, and other times, just let her know that has to last until morning, which she is okay with. She is big breakfast eater, so at least I know she gets some nutrition.

He just hasn't had a growth spurt in awhile. He'll get taller eventually. I was the smallest kid in my class for along time too--now I'm 5' 9". No need to worry :-)

Thats probably, because of unhealthiness. Maybe he is not eating well. There must be something wrong with the health procedure.
