First of all, I'm the one who gave you a thumbs down rating. I hate people who ask a question, and then hammer "thumbs down" at nearly everyone who gives an honest answer.
Secondly, I would give you another thumbs down if Y! A would let me. This question makes no sense. Long grain rice cooks in 17 minutes. Minute Rice cooks in one minute. If you're cooking short grain rice for a riso, it is cooked longer than 50 minutes.
Thirdly, raw sausage takes about a half an hour to cook if it is boiled. So it would be undercooked with Minute of long grain rice, and overcooked in riso.
If you're actually looking for an honest answer, and not an excuse to hammer thumbs downs, try this. Cook whatever rice you're cooking for 50 minutes. While the rice is cooking, saute the sausage until done and set aside. Near the end of whatever it is you're cooking, add the sausage to reheat.

The only rice that is able to stand that much cooking is brown rice that hasn't been soaked first, which does take about 50 minutes so I hope that's what you're planning to use or you're going to have something closer to gruel and overcooked sausage. It will also be greasy because all that fat that would normally have cooked off the sausage in a pan will be in your rice.
It's best to cook them separately and combine them.
Easy rule of thmb;
When cooking white rice (NOT instant or converted rice) add one part rice and two equal parts water to your pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat. When the level of the water gets a bit below the level of the rice, turn off the heat and cover the pot and leave it for 20 minutes. Do not rinse the rice...the starch in the rice is what helps sauces adhere to it (same for pasta).
You'll have perfect fluffy rice every time.
Then saute your sausage, drain the fate and add it to the rice.

yes the sausage will be cooked as will the rice. overcooked that is. try putting the sausage in cold water brininging it to a boil adding the rice for a minute or two and then transfering to an oven at about350 for about 50 minutes . yum yum . or brinbg it to a boil add rice turn down to a low simmer cover tightly and give it twenty to thirty minutes. also yum! this is the basis for a cajun dish called jambalaya and an african dish called jolloff.

How much you make and how high the heat is will affect the length of time it takes. But aren't you concerned about all the grease from the sausage? I want to cook my sausage and drain it well on paper towels to get rid of the grease.

Yes! The radiant heat from cooking the rice will also completely cook the sausage.

The sausage will definitely be done in 50 minutes - maybe a little too done!

Depends on the sausage. Most cured sausages will fine. The raw pork type ie breakfast sausage should be browned first to remove the fat and ensure its done.
