I am a 17 year old athlete and I need to lose this weight just to look good and jump higher. I am 6-2 and way about 180 pounds. how can i lose weight without losing energy from lack of food or losing muscle?

losing weight around your lower abdominals is one of the hardest places to lose weight from!

In order to lose the fat, you'll have to do some cardio, dont change your diet or anything, but make room in your training schedule for cardio. I'd start out with about 20 min (like running 1.5 miles) and then bump it up untilyou see results.

Doing cardio workouts will trim your entire body because it literally melts the fat away. Make sure you stay within your target heart range to burn the most calories. Also, for optimum energy, eat lots of protein and carbs (but only the comples carbs like whole wheat breads and pastas).

if your a woman, you can definitely try taking calcium supplements to whittle your waist. Studies have shown that more calcium in your diet will encourage weight loss from the waist. If your taking a supplement, make sure it is coupled with vitamin D so that your body will be able to absorb the calcium. Your body can't absorbe any more than 500 mg at a time, so try to reach a 1500 mg goal on calium per day!

you must watch what you eat,like more protien and less fat (and sugary stuff)and do a lot of partial (NOT full situps)These are also called crunches.My wife and I tightened our stomach muscles many years ago by following Tony Little's tapes .This in the long run,if you keep doing these exercises will save your back.Another way is to do pranayam which is a set of breathing exercises specialy one called "Kapal bhati Pranayam"These breathing exercises has to be done in a sitting position with the back straight and on anempty stomach and maybe 5-10 minutes a day.

Exactly what sport do you play that doesn't keep you fit ? I play tennis which hardly requires any body muscle and I have a nice build.
