Exodus chapter 20 Ten commandments. Verses 3-5 brings out that we should not make a carved image of anything, why, to worship them.

Notice in Psalms 115:1-11 what happens to people who trust in idols.

Our worship only goes to God, he will accept nothing less. (Some people worship pictures by praying to them saying it helps them - 2 Corinthians 5:7 says we walk by faith not by sight.

As was mentioned earlier no one really knows what Jesus looks like, however he was a jew - what do they look like?
God is a spirit - no man has seen him.

Jesus did come and fulfill the law, (which the ten commandments are a part of).
Galatians 3:19-24 points to the fact that the law was a tutor leading to Christ.
Galatians 3:25 brings out now that the Christ is here, we no longer need the tutor. Romans 10:4 Christ is end to law.

So we are no longer under the ten commandments.

Jesus said he was giving us a new commandment - John 13:34-35; Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 13:8-10

Throughout the Bible God made covenants with the Israelites, some replaced others. Then Jesus made a new covenant with his apostles in Luke 22:20, The Last supper with his 11 faithful apostles. (Yes, only 11, Judas had already left, so all those pictures with Jesus and his12 apostles is wrong!)

Very important to really meditate on the verses. Seems to me like your doing some meditating of your own.
Very Good!

Yes you are being too extreme. Go out into the world and see what it has to offer. Watch TV and see the suffering and the joy. How else will you be able to resist evil if you dont know what evil is. technology isnt bad unless you are to weak to resist its pull. if you know what an idol is then you can avoid it. Ingorance is not an excuse when it comes to God. Stand up in front of the world with God in your heart and let it do its worst. In the end if you are strong then you will survive and be stronger for the experience. God loves you dearly and wants you to be safe but he also doesnt want you to live in your closet. Peace to you.

Your being legalistic, this is a commandment to not create images of a holy nature because people tend to focus on it, God is not an image, He is a spirit, thats why there are no true descriptions of what Jesus looked like, or Mary or any of the apsostles. This has nothing to do with art, TV, or statues, it's about who and what you are worshipping.

I think what a statement like that is saying is that we should focus only on Him and nothing else and in a perfect world we would be content with that.

What I don't understand is that we are suppose to give without gaining and sacrifice without reward and focus all of our thought on Him, God forgive me, but isn't that alittle too much? Doesn't that kind of sound like a dictatorship? I don't know... The bible confuses me...

I'm not aware of anyplace it says anything about picture. Do you have a chapter and verse for this, I don't think so. Sounds like you are just repeating what you heard someone else say. If I were a betting man, I would bet they can't give chapter and verse either!!

If you are going to speak about spiritual things, you better get your facts straight

Scripture doesnt ban images, it just bans idol worship.
