how could u come to respect a man that has beaten ur boyfriend when he was lil?

my boyfriend's dad has left scares on his back b/c of the fact he used to beat him for no good reasons when he was lil i mean would any of u have any respect for a man that did that or would do it again to someone else I mean i dont have much respect for the man b/c of that fact and now that my boyfriend is 19 and still lives with him b/c he is still in school his dad things he can use him as his slave or something i mean even when he is sick his dad makes him go out side in the cold weather for 5 hours or long just to help him with the birds and sheep that he has and his dad has 200 birds and like 28 sheep and i mena i dont see y i should have to respect a man like that and i dont see how anyone can even have respect for a man like that and when someone says that he is a no good piece of **** or something like that it brings back memories of his dad beating him i mean it isnt that easy to forgive someone

that did that to u when u was lil or any other time i mean could u forgive someone like that

even if it didnt happen to u but it happened to a friend of urs or even ur boyfriend i mean would have respect for their parent that did that to them

my husbands father beat him to so i know where your coming from.
neither me nor my husband respect his father i don't speak to him unless i really have too.
my husband speaks to his father but he doesn't respect him as a father or as a man.
they don't even have a father-son relationship its more of a casual acquaintance relationship.
so yeah i think you have every right to feel the way you do and not respect him

I think it is sad that your b/f's dad did him like that! I'm thankful that he is still alive because you know what, when parents put bruises on their children at an early age, they could very well take their life from them. What your boyfriend should do is find his own place to stay because he is an adult now and his dad can't tell him what to do. I don't think that his dad should be respected because respect is something that you have to give in order to receive. But just pray if you are spiritual and ask God to give the both you strength to overcome this together. I hope he gets out and gets out fast!! Good luck and God bless you!!

No, it would be very difficult to have respect for the person who beat up your loved one. But if the situation is so bad, why does your bf stay? Why not get out on his own away from the memories and away from the anxiety?
