Yes, this is a serious problem. It starts to become a problem after 24 hours at the most. You can try replacing it at home, but I don't suggest it if this is your first time. You will need to keep it clean until you can get to a vet, which should be as soon as possible. Depending on the severity (how long it's been out, how much function he has left, etc) your vet may need to suture the prepuce partially shut to contain his penis and allow it to heal. Please contact your vet soon and get this poor dog seen. He is probably in a lot of pain and needs veterinary attention.

five hours later, sure. wash your arms, rinse the penis off with blank water to take away any particles.. lightly see if the sheath has rolled inward, which could preclude the penis from retracting.. use lil KY if wanted. If you're too squeamish to do that, or this doesnt repair the situation, then take to vet ASAP. Blood float could also be reduce off to the penis, and can reason issues. I understand anybody who needed to have their puppy eithanized considering the fact that they didn't discover their puppy used to be having this situation, and it had long gone unresolved for approximately an afternoon. By the time they learned, there used to be an excessive amount of harm performed to the penis.

Hell yes! I can't imagine how painful that must be for him. When our dogs were mating, we always had to put the male back into place. They have a lot of fur around their genitals (even though it had been trimmed) because of the breed they are. After breeding (and this happened 6 times in 4 days), our male's penis would get stuck because the hair had curled inside. It's kinda gross, but your dog will be thanking you for it!

Absolutely - take him to the vet.

Male's have a 'knot' that can swell when aroused and the skin can get stuck behind it - which can be painful.

It's absolutely a problem! He can lose all penile function if it isn't already too late! Quit asking questions on here and take him to the vet.
