most western ppl thinks that all arabs r muslims because all who they met is arab muslims and i really think most of western ppl's big problem is that they keep generalizing all ppl from just few who they met or known...
but again most of arabs r muslims but that doesnot mean all of them,u can find jewish ppl in Egypt,Kuwait,Yemen (lots of jewish in yemen),Iraq, lebanon,Morocco and some other countries
and u can always find christians in lebanon (lots of them in lebanon) ,syria,Palestian,Yemen,Kuwait,Bahrain,Tunisia,Morocco,Egypt,Iraq,Ethiopia, sudan and some other countries
and u can find ppl who has no religion in every country not only arab countries

I can sympathize with your position. What many other people have said is right: being human, we tend to generalize about a certain race, in your case all Arabs being Muslims. Other generalizations could include all Asians being Buddhist, and all Westerners being Christian. Of course all of these aren't true.
Having been raised in Saudi Arabia, I have come to realize that while the majority of Arabs are Muslim, there are also a fair few who are Jewish and Christian, such as you will find Christian Arabs in Lebanon and Qatar, and Coptics in Egypt. From what I heard, the largest percentage of Muslims are situated in South Asia, like in Indonesia. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
If people had any idea, they would realize that Muslim women usually cover their hair and/or face, or consistently wear long-sleeved clothing. I've figured out that many people are totally ignorant.

I'm sorry to hear that you have been stereotyped. Most Western people do not know that there are other religions in the Middle East aside from Islam, and they associate Arabs with Muslims. Some of us know that there are many Coptic Christians and other smaller religions in the Arab world, too.

You're right. Only 25% of Muslims in the world are Arabs. Arabs are composed of Muslims, Christians, Jews, Bahai and like yourself "no religion".

>>"believe in anyone except god,so am not jew,"<<
what? lol, Judaism only believes in God... one God.
I think many people do naturally attach Arabic ethnicity and Islam too much, not seeming to recognize that not all Arabs are Muslim, and not all muslims are arabs.
Islam IS attached to arabic culture, which i'd say is likely why the connection is seen, even though its not universal.

Well to be fair the majority of Arabs are Muslim. But I'm glad to hear you've gotten over the religion problem. Religion only causes trouble.

You are among a growing number of people.. their main interest is remaining very spiritually led. Understanding well, how religions have not been presenting what needs to be heard by those listening... They are rather, distorting and getting further and further from what the Gospel presents for us to understand and accomplish. Religions have gotten to the point where they actually deter the masses from gaining what the second part of the Gospel tries to teach us. Using distortion and false premises in so doing. Many within those masses are recognizing this and have wandered away from organized religions. They no longer fulfill their obligation.

I've never met an Arab who "wasn't" a Muslim. Or an Arab Atheist. It's rather surprising when an Arab says "I don't believe in Allah.". This is just a personal observation of mine though, not an insult to Arab people. So don't go getting all bent out of shape about it. It's an observation, not a judgement.

There are many Arab Christians.
Then, I could ask--------why do people think all Muslims are Arabs? Most are not.
