temer = to fear
tener miedo de = to be afraid
to scare = asustar, espantar

I'm assuming you know how to put it into the correct form... like... estoy asustado = I am scared. I guess you can double-check with http://translation2.paralink.com/, but I advise you not to use spanish translators that much because you should really learn it.. that's just a reference if you can't get to a dictionary or a teacher, which would be your first sources.

I'd go with "asustado".
If you're looking for surprised, I'd go with "sorprendido."
