I really don't think you must bring anything with you. It might be taken as an insult. The Chinese are alot different in their traditions and the way they see things. Try this site:

Well I think the best thing would be to bring one of your favoite desserts from your own culture. It wouldn't be insulting at all and it would bring some of your culture to mix with theirs. That way, both parties might try something new.

Call ahead and say how much you are looking forward to dinner with them.....can I bring anything? If they say no, don't bring anything, stop and get some flowers or a nice bottle of wine-or both!
