Can anyone give me a site that will tell me the history of the flute. I am a floutist myself and think that will help me be a better player if i learn the backround.

You might see if Trevor Wye has a website. He did a whole carnival of the animals things where he played it beginning to end with flutes from very early bone flutes all the way to modern flutes.
