I have been monitoring my scores for a couple months thru www.truecredit.com, a site that is supposedly partnered with Transunion. Recently, I got approved for a mortgage loan. True Credit's score for me for Experion was almost 80 points lower than what Bank of America said they had pulled-- they probably used the actual FICO score. I've been thinking for a long time that True Credit had a score much lower than it should be given my report/history.

Do some sites look at your reports and make up their own score for you or what?

I KNOW all three bureaus have different scores. That's not what i was asking. I was askiing why Bank of America had a higher EXPERION score than I had pulled through a credit report company.

All 3 credit bureaus use "True FICO" scores. However, FICO developed slightly different formulas for each of the 3 bureaus. Perhaps TrueCredit used the Transunion's formula applied to the Experian data. Another factor is the date of each report, something may have changed on your Experian report between when you checked and when Bank of America checked. Your report CAN change on a daily basis.

The FICO scoring formula can vary from one credit bureau to another. Just think about your computer and the computer of people you know. There are different versions of Window. They all basically do the same thing, but depending on which version you have compared to the others, you may get slightly different results.

FICA scores for mortgages always seam to be higher then those for credit cards, I don't know why, but your mortgage broker should be able to tell you.
