All these other religions, you really never hear them trying to get anyone over to their belief or outreaching to the community, I would wonder if they would think they are the real truth wouldnt they do more outreach to the world. Christianity is the only religion that reaches out to other people to at lease get them to believe what they believe, I really have never seen these other religions proffessing their faith to gets others to their side, not on tv, the streets, music, this really makes me think twice on what they beleive, its like their antisocail, if you beleive whole heartly what you beleive you should be trying your hardest to get it out to the world, Makes Me Wonder??

I am a muslim and I tell you that god has promissed great rewards for those muslims who guide others to Islam. So all muslims would gladly try to guide people into the path they believe is the right one. However there are different ways of doing that. Its good that the christians go around trying to tell people about their own beliefs but i don't think that is the most effective way.

But you are making it sound like this "christians are the better people because they are trying to deliver what they think is true to the rest of the world by explicit advertising". So if a bunch of homosexuals started knocking on peoples doors and telling them about what they think is right, would you think that they were better people. And would this "make you think twice"about what the rest of the people believe in"

What you are proposing is just an inappropriate analogy.

Good i am glad. Question things and you will eventually come to the truth. many people read things and say hey that sounds great i think i will be that religion today without ever wondering whether it is right or not. Blindly following anyone or anything will lead you to ruin and heartache mainly because when you need it the most it will fail you. Keep thinking, keep wondering, keep asking questions. Christianity is not perfect if you follow it word for word. It is only through thought and interpretation of the word that you can find its true meaning. I am not saying to make up your own rules but i am saying that you should look behind the words to what they truly mean.

Hmm

Well, you cant make everyone happy ^^

Theres no compulsion in Islam, therefore I cannot force my faith down someone elses throat or unhearing ears or anything of the sort.

While in Christianity theres such a thing as organized . preaching to others and its called Missionary work.

Its all good, until the missionaries decide to play secret spy and try to convince people in secret by being nice to them and etc and hiding the fact that theyre missionaries.

Makes me wonder too ^^

I think we should all talk...and leave the people to learn for themselves tho.

Peace Out

Jesus constantly preached about one thing, the good news of the kingdom. See Matthew 9:35. He also said that when this good news had been preached to all the world, then the end would come.

I don't think Athenians would consider themselves a religion, just people who live in Athens.
Bhuddists believe they are reached through enlightenment, Muslims certainly do "recruit". Judaism has to be born or married in to, but I may be wrong.

Christians are the only ones who go out of their way to ignore parts of their religion they don't like. Matthew 6 clearly states that people are to keep their praying to themselves

6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Going out and annoying people is not a good way to convert them.

We muslims do not force people to come to us. Many people convert by them selves. People are so interested to hear the truth about islam that they convert. That is why Islam is the fastest growing religon in the world.

Why would someone want to try to get you to believe their religion. It's because they are insecure in their beliefs. They want everybody to affirm what they believe. My personal opinion is that the ones who don't try to force their opinions on others are the ones that might have it right.

I don't know. A very cute greek man wanted me to move to Athens once. I'd consider that an outreach by an Athenian.

Alas, I remain unconverted
