No a stick of butter is 1/2 cup. so you will need a little more than 1 stick, it should tell you on the sticks how much it is, there are usually little marks on the side.

To measure 2/3 cup butter, use a 2 cup glass measuring cup. put in 1 cup of water. Put butter in the water until the water level comes to 1 and 2/3. then remove the butter and use for your recipe. Works for any measurement of course. just make sure all the butter is below the water level. its easy!

i think that a stick of butter is usually a half a cup/8 T. So with that in mind 16 T makes a cup so 16 divided by 3 is a little over 5 - so cut off a little over 10 T - should be close enough!

Since 5-1/3 Tblsp = 1/3 Cup you need to use 10-2/3 Tblsp or 1 stick plus 2-2/3 Tblsp. Hope this helps. And it's not 1/4 cup sticks, it's 1/4 pound sticks or 1/2 cup per stick.

You can use 2/3 cup butter without having to add anything else. Just make sure you soften the butter first and all will go well.
