I want to know exactly how you got out of this mess it seems they screw you over at every chance they get. Is it possible for them to take your license away twice even after you have paid the 400 to get the freaken thing back. And did you have to take a DUI program class? did you have the money for it? if not what was your process to obtain the money. Anything and everything you can give me on the process it takes to get out of this mess would be great. Don't answer if you are going to just put I dont know or stupid answers only serious ones please

well, I was not the one to get the DUI I am asking for someone else, and yes he already paid the 400 for license back and called earlier to say that they are giving him suspension until dec 12 and he still has to take the class and do some community service, but I swear if anything else happens the roof will blow off, it is getting a bit ridiculous

Excellent Question. Unfortunetly your license will be suspended for at least 180 days mandatory. You might just have to pay a fine and a stupid 8 hour course. My friend had a D.U.I in Orange County and that is what happend to him. Unfortunetly he had to switch to a motorcycle because his insurance was ridicoulously high. Good luck i'm sure you wont see any time. Oh yeah his fine was $500

I know many people that have gotten a DUI in Northern California and am pretty familiar with the process. One thing I did not understand is that you paid $400 to get your license back? First of all the most you would pay is $125 around there. And it also depends on your case too. I mean did you take a breath test or a blood test? WHy did they stop you? All of that stuff will affect the outcome of your case. Like if you had a really high alcohol level the judge in court might order you to AA and might feel that you should have a license suspension or resrtiction and if that happens that is seperate from what the DMV does so yeah you could find yourself going through suspension or restriction then again after the DMV does what they want. And yeah you could end up going to school even jail time depends on whether this is your first or second offense. You really should talk to an Attorney in your area that specializes in DUI cases. DUI's aren't just a traffic ticket...I mean a DUI can really mess up your life REALLY. This is a good place to find an Attorney's website in your area so that you can get more information http://www.california-dui-lawyers.org/findlawyer.asp Good Luck.

I had a DUI once, it was a while ago and the easiest, cheapest thing for me was to take a vacation on the county, i.e. spend some time in jail. Didn't help my insurance, but didn't pay a fine or take classes.
