1. While praying behind an Imam in Jamaat, do we have to recite Sura Fatiha in the 3rd or 4rth rakaah, or just stay quiet? Also what about in 1st and 2nd Rakaah of Juhr and Asr when Imam recite quietly?

2. What differentiates between 'Wajib' and "Sunna Muakkada"?

Helpful answers would be much appreciated, also if there are weblinks describing the matter. Thanks.

Hello,

You are correct to recite Surat al Fatiha in all Rakaah, but in a low voice or even in your heart. You also have to do it during 1st and 2nd Rakaah of Zuhr and Asr.

Wajib = Obligatory on every Muslim (excluding those before they reach the age of puberty and those mentally unfit to conduct the act in question).

Sunna Muakadda is not obligatory but in doing a deed or act which is Sunna Muakadda Inshallah you will be rewarded greatly for such a deed.

Now as for weblinks I have posted a link to a site where imams answer your questions, and from experience I have found them to be the most well-educated Muslim imams there are on the internet.

Thanks for reading my answer

Salaam

recite it in a very low voice in ALL 2 or 3 or 4 Rakaa's but make sure you don't go faster than the Imam in reciting.

the Wajib is the Fard = Compulsory Salat and Zakat.

the Sunnah is Optional Rakaa's after or before Salat depends on which Salat.

this is a very helpful site!!

about sura fatiha brother poki poki cleared
but about wajib:it's just after farz n u can't leave it....it sin
whereas sunna Muakkada, differentiates from sunna ghair mukkada by the fact: it was left by Muhammad(pbuh) only during the state of war or in journey....so leaving it without solid cause is also sin....
whereas ghair mukkada doesn't cause any sin if left(it was offered sometimes by Muhammad(pbuh), n other times he left it
