lol, my soon to be aunt would like pie instead of a traditional wedding cake. I think its a good idea....one reason is because everything else about this wedding is non-traditional. It takes place outside, 10:00 at night and by the pond..its going to be by moonlight and a big bonfire and I'll be playing a guitar softly as she walks down the isle. Its a cookout with a HUGE grill (on the back of a truck) and fireworks later on. Nobody is dressing up except for the bride and groom and after the ceremony they are even changing into their jeans. As you might have guessed already my family is sort of country...lol, ok, VERY country. Its just going to be a big party. What do you think of a wedding like this? Having a pie instead of wedding cake....I personally think its going to be a blast. Thanks for the answers!

Wow, rude answers from some people......white trash? Good grief! Yeah, its a country wedding....not everybody likes big fancy things (even though they are nice).......also, did you ever think that they may just not have as much money as YOU did for your "fairy tale wedding"?

Definitely wouldn't be my idea of a wedding; but, I've already had my fairy book day. Sounds kinda, ahem, tacky like the rest of the festivities.

It sounds like fun!! Can i come? Lol...just kidding. They sound very laid back, in love and comfortable together. I think this ones a keeper. A lot of traditional weddings can be very boring. Plus you don't have to worry about the perfect dress to wear! Pie would probably go better anyway with the theme. I could never imagine myself having a big fancy wedding either. Is it that obvious (i'm a country girl myself)!! Have fun.

I had pie at my wedding 2 years ago. It was a hit with those who don't like cake and there are so many choices too. We had a variety so every one got to have there favorite. We even had a specialty pie made for my husband. I think having a non-traditional wedding is great also.

I'm definitely not what you'd call a conformist, or a traditionalist, and I'm often accused, or appreciated, for thinking outside the box. I love everything your aunt has planned for her wedding...except not having a wedding cake. I mean...this day, simple or not. country or fancy, is a very special day. You can have pie any day of the week. The cake doesn't have to be fancy...anybody can make a wedding cake. She could decorate it with real flowers, or berries, to go along with the simpleness of the ceremony. My vote is for cake, not pie.

pie would be great. It's your wedding and you have what you want on your wedding day special day. My one relation had cheesecake instead of cake and and my husband neice had soap and sandwiches for wedding so you make the choice it's your special day

sounds cute! For a neat little spin maybe you can get those cake platforms that they sell at michals or joann fabric and put a different pie on each and dress it up with a few flowers around the bottoms.

Sounds like my kind of wedding, good food, jeans, barbecue, the moon, water, fire, outside, all the five elements and even at ten. With pie to top it off, you go jimmy. how about the wedding crashers?
