God did not make a mistake by making man because He is infallible, but man is not. God gave us free-will which is what Eve exercised when she ate the fruit that God commanded them not to eat of.
Would we prefer if God was a dictator and forced people to follow him?

God made man and gave him the will and intelligence to make his own choices. In the beginning man was perfect but that didn't last long. God knows everything and in everything is Gods plan. Who is to say how this whole thing will work out in the end, only God knows the answer to that little question.

Hey we wanted free will since Adam and Eve, God allow us to make choices, we are basically in charge here as humans, so don't go blaming God, we should be able to help one another since we want free will, it's all our faults why Children die, we aren't doing enough, or not enough of us. Yes it's easier to blame God. Your the one that makes the choice of Hell or Heaven, you are the book writer, you can change the script, because you have that free will. Although, having a relationship with God, we can ask for help, depending on the sincerity of your heart and or if your ready for what you ask for.

God never makes a mistake. We were originally made in the image of God, but Adam and Eve ate of the tree and sinned. They were the ones to make a mistake, not God.

God did not make a mistake. He created us in his image and likeness. He expects the best from us and He knows that we have it in us to give that and to grow into the image that is deep within us. It might take us awhile to get there, but He is patience. The evil in the world was created by humans. We learn from our mistakes both as individuals and as nations.
I don't know what you are referring to in the Old Testament. If it is the flood, you first need to know that we are not to take the stories in the Bible literally. They are myth that convey deep meaning. God does not destroy His children.

Are you telling me that you have never had regret for having to make the right choice? Like a woman leaving her abusive husband, or a boss firing a close friend. God regreted it, but it was the right thing to do.

Elisha Is Jeered
23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

Is the Old Testament violent? Yes.
But a mistake by creating Man? WTF is wrong with you? If you don't wanna be alive then 'take care of it' but don't you EVER say that God made a mistake by creating us.
Idiot.
