Islands near Phuket include Phi Phi island (or known as Koh Pee Pee, Koh means island in thai), Koh Phang-Nga which has the famous James Bond island. GO do sea-canoeing there, it's more than just taking a ferry. You have to see Maya Bay while in Phi Phi. THen go see Koh Racha, beautiful private island with a beautiful resort. Coral Island is beautiful as well. Chicken island (Koh Kai) is near Phi Phi and also spectacular. Go do a full day tour of Phi Phi and Kai together. More private areas include Koh Yao and Koh Maphrao (Long island and Coconut island). Very exclusive and private. ANd you have to go to the Similan island for diving. SPECTACULAR. You can get day-trips from any tour counter at any hotel you stay in Phuket, or at any counter booth along the street. Compare prices and bargain as these tour operators usually mark up quite a lot.

Now sure what your question is? Near by island to Bangkok could be Koh Samet near Rayong, or Koh Pi Pi near Phuket. Transportation to Koh Samet would be by plane or bus, to Koh Pi Pi would be by boat.
