I don't know...it's a pretty broad question.
First of all, this question is supposed to be related to the Declaration of Independence, especially how we got our natural rights, including freedom of religion. But, when I think about it today, I don't know how to answer this question.
I mean, for Muslims today, you're allowed to have a mosque built, girls wearing hijab, holidays, halal restaurants, etc. But, with all the things going on right now, especially the misrepresentation of Islam, would there be freedom of religion for us?
And does freedom of religion also mean the respect for a religion? Are we getting respect from other people about Muslims and Islam?

Ok, so there is freedom of religion in America, and I totally agree with you guys. But, let me ask you another question: do you think Muslims are getting an equal respect like everyone does...not just respect, but even more. For example, it is Eid and Muslims are trying to rent a hall for all fellow Muslims to gather together on Eid prayer, but the hall owners won't accept at all, and they have even offered to pay $20,000 for the hall...but no use. What do you think about that? And it did happen this year... So what do you think now? Is this somehow related to some political issues regarding Muslims?

Yes there is freedom of religion in the U.S .I am a american muslim and I think that when it comes to their citizens they give them their rights. We do have rights here but it doesnt mean that there are not racists out there.
eg.prince uranus- every muslim and every recognised muslim leader in this country and in the world has condemned terrorism by saying there is no place for them in Islam but yet there are people like u who insist on blaming us for the action of others.Yahoo anwers are full of muslims condeming terrorist and educating the rest of the world about us but still u insist on blaming a whole race/religion for the action of a few.Racism is racism no matter what excuse u give.
Eventhough there are racist out there america is full of great open minded people. If we dont like to be painted with the same brush then we should not paint them with one brush either.Thats called racism and it is wronge. The Prophet(pbuh) respected everyone no matter who he was and we should follow his example.

Please don't fake that you simply have no idea that the West or Western have an impact on have continuously careworn Muslims to receive pressured conversion into Christianity and into Democracy? Saidi Arabia isn't an Islamic State and the hundreds of copies of the Quran are supposed to supply an un-Islamic variant to assuage Christianity and the West and are accordingly null and void and constitute a King James Biblical Version of Quran and search to style a suitable style of the Bahai religion because the Islam of the West or Chrislamity, a Jesus style of Islam. Islam isn't the Muslim international locations. Islam is Allah, the Only True God, and the reward Terrorists' War in opposition to Islam is doomed to failure as others were, however the Signs from Allah this time exhibit a worse influence than the drowning of Pharaoh and his navy for the Coalition of the inclined.

Of course there is freedom of religion. The Amish in Pennsylvania live about as FAR removed from typical society as possible, and they are permitted to live how they like. Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, extreme, Hindus, Orthodox Jews, and Pentecostals are another example... though I think that the snake charming that goes on in Pentecostal churches is very questionable, and maybe should be illegal, it is not illegal. Muslims absolutely have freedom of religion. They can wear their coverings and clothing. They can take time from their jobs or wherever to pray when they have to.

To answer the second question, I do not think there is a respect for all religions equally, but I do believe there is protection for all religions equally. I know Jewish people who have had crosses burned in their yards or have been victims of hate crimes and they are protected under the law. Similarly, Muslims who have been victims of hate crimes or Mosques that have been vandalized are protected and given equal investigation and attention by the police... if not extra attention since hate crimes are NOT tolerated in the US and reflect poorly on the office under which the crime happened. Politicians are VERY quick to punish someone for a hate crime to make themselves appeal to all of their constituency.

There is certainly more freedom of religion for muslims in America than there is in many other countries. Perhaps not as much freedom as in some other countries, like Canada, but in the top end of the religious freedom spectrum.

It may not be respected by everyone, but at least there is legislation and legal support for following your own religion.

Unfortunately, freedom of religion does not mean that everyone has to respect your religion. Just ask the Scientologists how much respect they get.

Personally, I don't respect any religion, but I fully support your right to declare your religion and live your life however you see fit, as long as you don't interfere with mine.

There is a lot of racism towards Muslims in the USA right now. A lot of stupid people who equate the actions of a few with an entire ethnic group. I do believe this extends to certain government entity's, law enforcement, and business owners. So while technically I do believe you have freedom of religion in this country, as a Muslim you also may be subject to increased discrimination by individuals who give in to simple minded bigotry.

There is definitely freedom of religion. One must not confuse frfeedom of religion with having everyone respect your religion. No religion is respected by all. But all religions are free to practice their various forms of worship, and to proclaim their faith to others.
What would happen if everyone was obliged to respect a particular religion, or all religions? I think that would be the beginning of the end of freedom of religion. For instance in my Christian message someone could interpret something as lacking respect for Jews because of hteir belief that the Messiah has not yet come and because of their initial rejection of Christ. Or for Moslems because I claim that there are no further prophets after Christ, thus negating Mohhamed as a prophet. On the other hand a Christian could claim Jews are not respecting us Christians because if they dont believe Jesus is the Messiah they imply He was an imposter, or Moslems because if they believe Jesus was only a prophet they imply he blasphemed when he equated himself to God. Can you imagine how busy the judges would be?

There's still freedom of religion for everybody, but it's being threatened. If the Religious Right has their way, they'll be able to promote Christianity over all other religions BY the government. That will effectively push people of all other religions into the status of a second-class citizen.

Freedom of religion means to practice whatever faith you wish to practice. However, freedom of religion does not mean you are allowed forced conversions nor are you allowed to practice a religion that threatens the stability or the lives of it's citizens of this country.

The facts are, most Islamic countries do not afford the same rights to others to practice their religion as does the United States.

Yes, i think there's freedom of religion in America and I'm thankful for that.

although there has been some incidents here and there. but the Government is fair so far.

America is still THE best Western country in dealing with Muslims. unlike some other European countries where they banned wearing Hijab in Public, which is pretty oppressive if you ask me.
