My girlfriend and I have a drug problem. One night she picked me up, we went to dinner then got drugs and went back to motel. At 3 or 4 am I told her I was going to get more. Since I had been driving all evening, I had her keys so I took her car. I never came back. The car got wrecked. She and my mom found the car 5 days later where my girlfriend and I got the drugs and I was there too. I lost my job (again)because of my 'binge', so I can't pay for the damages right now. She filed a police report saying I took car without permission. Now she says she is going to file criminal charges.....

You are screwed - unless you can possibly do everything in your power to have her withdraw any criminal charges - which at this point in time may be impossible.

I think your only defense in this situation is to throw yourself upon the complete mercy of the court and beg for everyones forgiveness and hope and pray that your Judge is in a good mood when your case comes before him. And for Gods sake keep your mouth shut about any drugs unless the Judge specifically asks about them!

Good Luck!~

Who knows what the judge will do but those drugs are going to kill you if a druggie doesn't do it first. Check into a rehab and stop using drugs. Take the consequences of your actions when the judge hands them down and use the opportunity to straighten your life up or it will be wasted.

There is a lot to find out before the judge does anything. I would get an attorney right now and also get off the drugs. Straighten up and get another job. When you do have to go before a judge look as clean and straight as you can.

Explain the entire situation and make a plea to go to rehab. I think you need to remind your girlfriend that afiling a false police report is a crime.
