You have to consider what gatorade is made for and that is to restore electrolytes or whatever that your body loses through sweat and working out or some other kind of physical activity. If used that way then yeah its better than water because it keeps your body chemistry balanced but if you were to just drink it because you want something to drink then no its not good for you because it has alot of sugar in it just go with water.

Gatorade is good, is replaces the electrolytes that you loose when sweating a lot. True, it does have a lot of sugar and isnt' really meant to be drunk as an all around beverage. But it is the best sports drink on the market. Only gatorade has a lab where they test how gatorade works with actual athletes.

Gatorade is an overpriced, overrated electrolyte. Regular gatorade is HORRIBLE for most people due to the enormous sugar content. Take a careful look at a bottle the next time you have one...look at the grams of sugar, and multiply it by the # of servings, usually you'll come near 65 grams of sugar. If weightloss is a concern for you, you will need to ditch the gatorade fast. I prefer propel, and take multivitamins daily to supplement with. The only people that really benefit from gatorade are serious athletes ie: a NHL hockey goalie that loses 10 lbs of fluid per game...Don't buy into the hype
