i've always used a cotton ball, Q-tips and rubbing alcohol on a cold iron - don't waste money on 'special' cleaners

Try washing it with a little bit of shampoo & warm water...After all, if it can get that "gunk" out of your hair, it should be able to get it off the curling iron!

This works best for curling irons that are crome plated, not the painted type. Use a paste of baking soda and a little water. Rub it on gently and wipe off with a damp, soft cloth.

I clean mine with a soft cloth and a little bit of soap. Just don't use too much soap and make sure that the washcloth isn't too wet or too dry. And, make sure that the chord and thing that you plug into the wall are not near water. I hope this helped!

Let it cool completely and use a cloth with soap and water. Be careful not to get the water inside the iron... may not work if you get too crazy with the water. But it should come off pretty fast and easy!

Steel wool. Or scrape it off with something like a butter knife. Then use a wasn cloth with soap and water. You obviously dont want to put the whole thing in the water.
