I recently got a job at Goodwill which is a used clothes store and I picked up my brother at school after I left work early and I was wearing my Goodwill uniform. And my brother said he wanted to ride the bus from now on, and when I asked himw hy he said some kids were maing fun of him jsut because I work at Goodwill. I feel horrible, that I embarrass my brother, and I think he should be embarrased if I was serial killer or something like that. But why should he feel bad because I'm his brother? This is the worst i ahve ever felt.

hes not embarrassed of you .he just doesn't like the kids seeing the uniform because either it reminds him of what they said or he knows that if they see it it will provoke more teasing . if they didn't tease him about it he wouldn't mind riding in the car with you (when you wear the uniform) .if you ever got teased at school (or work) you stopped doing or hanging around the thing they were teasing you about right?? that's how he feels . He doesn't feel bad because your his brother he feels bad because people are teasing about him and his brother (you) . one way to deal with is ,is when you pick him up ,don't wear the uniform lol .
hope you don't feel to depressed .

that is horrible. But if you want to play to his needs, just bring a different shirt or something to change into for when you pick him up. Offer to buy him something after school like some candy or ice cream or pop, whatever. Tell him you love him and that its pretty sad he'de rather ride the bus than want to ride with you because you're wearing something like a goodwill uniform. Obviously you like him, or you wouldn't be so embarassed, but if he refuses all of this, then **** it... he's not worth your tears.

The reason he probably feels bad is b/c no one wants to work or get clothes from a store that has used items. It makes you seem poor . You should teach him to not care about what others think.Make him realize its a harsh world out there, people are going to make fun of you no matter what. If he doesn't understand then........let him ride the bus............if it will make hime feel better

Tell him to get over it. You are the more grown up one, and have been embarrased by him plenty of times Point that out and ignore it. Little borther doesn't know about real life and responsibility yet...so don't let his simple view freak you out. Take it for what it is ... a little kids opinion.

You shouldn't feel bad. It's your brother that should. In time he will come to see that a person's image isn't everything and he'll feel bad for the things he said and for making you feel bad. Just be able to forgive him when the time comes, you're a very loving brother.

Honey if you are old enough to have a job, dont be sweating your little brother. My kids say I embarrass them all the time, and I dont lose any sleep over it. I figure that being family and all that pretty much makes it my job! LOL

Be happy gou have a job. Tell your brother to grow up, then flash your paycheck in his face, he'll get his chance at menial labor some day.
