The Bible says that works of the flesh can not get us into heaven, only God's grace.

Well, the works of the flesh are supposed to be eliminated from a Christian's life after they are saved. Yes, all you Calvin followers, you can do that! The Bible says that there is no temptation that we can't overcome with Jesus' help! God also commands us to be holy, and we can do that by having a daily walk with Christ bu reading our Bible and praying.

Biblical Proof of works and Faith.
Mt 7:21, not lord lord but he who does the will of the Father
Mt 19:16-17, to have life, keep the commandments
Jn 14:21, he who keeps my commandments loves me
Rom 2:2-8, eternal life by perserverance in good works!
Gal 5:4-6, nothing counts but faith working through love!
Eph 2:8-10, we are created in Christ Jesus for good works!
Phil 2:12-13, work out salvation with fear and trembling
Jam 2:14-24, a man is justified by works & NOT be faith alone!!

Alot of it goes hand and hand. Many of Gods chosen were weak and violated his law. Many were easily swayed and even committed terrible offensed, like murder. It just shows the weakness of the flesh and humanity. We all should learn from those before us.

Its funny that you say that.... ppl may respond by saying that we are saved by God's grace not by what we do or dont do... the churches teach you the coulda, shoulda, woulda's of religion like u must tithe! u must go to church! u must this and that when God looks at your heart and the real intention of what you do when you do things. You can do good things, dont get me wrong but God prefers that you WANT to do them out of love for Him and others not because you have to.
