Whether you're baking or pan-frying it, do it at a low heat.
It will definitely take longer to cook thoroughly, but it will be much more tender. When you use a higher heat it tends to make the outside leathery. This is my experience with various cuts of pork and steak.
PS If you're cooking any type of meat (fish, chicken, beef) don't use the microwave AT ALL.

Since you don't say what kind of meat here is a general guideline. Do not cook it in the microwave unless you like gray meat with no taste.
Pan fry only with a sauce, and then just barely.

It depends on the meat. And if you are pan frying or microwaving chances are you wont get good results. I prefer to grill most of my meats, so if you have acess to a grill i would try that. Its fast and isnt too hard to cook most meats on it. But unless you have one of those conventional oven- microwaves, dont cook the meat in it, because it usualy sucks. I only use the microwave to reheat. When all else fails, Order Takeout!

If the meat is a roast or some type of stew meat, then you can cook it in a sauce in the oven. If it is some type of steak, then you should grill it. Ground beef can be fried or grilled. Remember seasoning is the key. You can use a grill seasoning that can be bought from a store that will have most of the seasonings you will want to add.

Try baking it. It all depends on the kind of meat. You may be frying it too fast. The microwave is not good for meat.

Marinate steaks in soy sauce and garlic, then broil them.
Put bigger chunks of meat (roasts, etc.) in a pot on the stove with your favorite vegetables, and cook, covered over a lower heat for 2 or 3 hours.

Try grilling or baking. Microwaving is not very good for meat at all. Marinate your meat also.

Poor Josh. Have you tried seasoning the meat with salt/pepper/Worcestershire sauce/soy sauce or a marinade? Maybe you need a cookbook for some recipes. You can borrow one from your local library. Ask your mom for one of your favorite recipes. Don't forget you can find recipes on-line too.

Use some seasoning. Try using recipes. If you're using hamburger meat, use a package of taco seasonine. If you're making chicken try adding some Nature Seasoning.

Use a George Foreman grill! You can't screw it up and it's very tasty because it sears the juice in.
Another possibility is to buy a crockpot. Again, you can't screw it up but you do have to plan in advance.
There are a ton of recipe sites online. Here's one:
