I always noticed that smart people are usually tired or angry while stupid people are usually happy and joyful. What is up with that? Shouldn't the stupid people feel bad that their stupid and shouldn't the smart people feel happy that their smart?

Yep, I'll have to agree with everyone that says "ignorance is bliss".

I try really really hard to be happy, it's a daily struggle for me. Things I care about (which usually don't include who slept with who, who's buying a BMW, who said what to whom, etc... ya know all the fodder of the uneducated) generally don't get discussed much with the people that surround me. Even in college 85% of my classmates don't seem to care about what they are learning at all. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a social circle that I've grown out of, but then I look around me and it just seems SO MANY people are just... well, .. STUPID. It's frustrating.

So I just keep on trying to educate myself, and learn new things, and try really hard to accept that a lot of people just don't care about these things. But most days I just hate the world.

I guess its better to be happy and stupid than be miserable and smart. Sometimes bein smart means you have more to live up to and that can cause stress. If you're an under-achiever you don't have the added pressure so you can be happy and joyful! Make sense???

Well people I say I'm stupid, and it doesn't bother me at all. I'm in all honors classes and have a stupid sense of humor. Making others laugh makes me laugh. And with everything I say that comes out extremely ditzy, my friends and I can always crack jokes with one another. Being happy is easier when you can laugh with your friends about basically everything.

You know this question is pretty ugly. Smart people vs Stupid people....and why is this under mental health? This should be in polls and opinions. If you really consider others to be truly "stupid" it sounds like you have a type of superiority complex. Who is to say who is stupid and who is smart? Maybe the person you think is "stupid" is really someone who is smart enough to understand that life istoo short to be tired and angry all the time. I know plenty of smart people who are simply carefree....because they have made peace with themselves, and don't care what others think. They are accountants, managers, and other important positions...and they are happy and joyful! Are they stupid? No. Would you think they were stupid if you met them? Maybe, maybe not. I think you should look into yourself a little more. I am not a stupid or smart person...I consider myself to be of average intelligence, but I know how to live....maybe you would consider me stupid for that.

Ignorance is bliss. Simple as that.

Smart people have to put up with stupid people. Worse, smart people usually watch stupid people succeed at the office.

I am not bitter.

It does explain why I won't work for corporate America anymore.

Why shouldn't the stupid be happy? They have so little else, let them have it. Personally, I'd rather see the Universe for the big, scary place it is with all its complications and distractions. More power to them! Besides, I know so many people hung up on their IQ scores that it makes me sick.

Ignorance is bliss.

Being or acting stupid usually gives you less responsibilities in life.

well, actually stupid people r not as happy as u think, they r like ordinary people. somtimes they r happy and sometimes they r not, but the difference is what is it that makes them happy or sad.
what I think is that stupid people feel happy because they take everything easy, and they feel sad because they r stupid while ordinary people have their ordinary things that make them happy or sad.

The smart ones are unhappy because they know that they have to work to support the lazy stupid ones.
