No, that's simply drinking too much and putting your health at risk. In order to be an alcoholic you must have a dependency on alcohol or use it as a constant crutch. If you can drink 4 cans a night then just stop and go a week without being bothered that you aren't drinking then a person isn't an alcoholic, but if they can't get through life without the booze then they are.

Like some have said, It's all relative to the individual, 4 cans per night could be alchoholism for you but, 6 cans 5 nights a week could be enough to label myself one....
For a straighter answer though, Placing myself in your situation.........NO!!! not whatsoever!!! enjoy yourself, you will know when you should have a day or two off the booze

Hell No!..You some kinda poof? That's vastly under the recommended daily limit of 250 units per day! I can only assume you're strapped for cash. Help is at hand! Buy 'dragonspiss' cider 7.5% proof. It's only 2.49 for 3litres. Put bottle in freezer, water freezes (about 75%), Pour off liquid which is now around 30% proof. So effectively you get a bottle of cheap hooch for under 3 quid! S'called cold distillation (excellent for unblocking drains and oven cleaning too!)

How would you feel if tomorrow night you dont drink? how would the night be? How even would your day be knowing no booze when you get in? This answers the question of alcoholism, you dont need to drink large amounts of alcohol to be an alcoholic!!A lot of people won't agree with me here, but most people who drink are alcoholics.

the best and the only way to answer this if you can not go with out a drink every night and can only think about getting home to drink then i would say you are on the way to becoming an alcoholic

Read up on alcoholism - your first alcoholic drink is enough to make you an alcoholic, 4 can @ 4% can gradually increase. Do you have family history of alcoholics?

It is probably too much to have 4 cans every night even though it is a low percentage. Try having a couple of alchol free nights per week.

Can you quit without any effect on your life?
Does your life revolve around having that beer?
Do you rearrange your schedule so that you always get something to drink?
Have you lied to people about your drinking?
Have you tried to hide your drinking from others?
Have you tried to quit before, but couldn't? Have you tried often?
Have you lied to yourself about your drinking? IE, have you rationalized that it's not a problem, you can quit any time, it's just to steady your nerves, etc.
Has an inner voice ever said, "Maybe you drink too much"?
Has your drinking affected your work, your relationship with your family or friends, etc?
If you answers to these questions trouble you, then it might be time to take steps.

alcoholism is also a psychological disorder-so as long as you are keeping the rest of your life in line & its not ruining relationships etc, then you are fine. They are no definite amounts of alcohol that automatically make you an alcoholic. Just ask yourself why you are drinking.
