I'd go with a mono amp with a rms rating between 500-1000 (the closer to 1000 the better). Check Sparky's post for an illustration on how to wire the subs and amp.

You can either get an amp that is 500 watt RMS X 2 @ 4 ohms and wire each sub to each channel.

Get a 1000 watt RMS X 1 @ 2 ohm amp and wire them like so:

you need one that is 2 ohm stable so that you can bridge it mono and run it in paralell to both subs.
