I thinks it's the same place. It all depends on your perception of it.
One man's hell is another man's heaven and vice versa.

Well, heaven is not "out there" somewhere, remote in space. It is not some spatial location which can be pinpointed on some other planet in some distant galaxy in the great reaches of space. Heaven is within. Heaven is this new dimension which is as present on earth as it is anywhere else. "The kingdom of heaven," Jesus said, "is within you," Luke 17:21). It will help us to understand this if we look at what he says about the pattern, for the tabernacle was a pattern of this.
THE NEW CONSTITUTION

Hell is often pictured as a fiery furnace where people are dragging around in chains, being continually burned and never being able to do anything about it. The Bible does use some symbols of hell that reflect that idea, but hell is really exclusion from the presence of the Lord. God is the source of everything that is good -- beauty and truth, life and love, joy, peace, grace, strength, forgiveness. All those things come only from God, and if a man won't have them, then God finally says to him, "I've been trying my best to get you to take these, but if you won't have them, then you must have your own way." And they are shut out from the presence of the Lord.
And if they're shut away from the source of all goodness, then what's left? The opposite -- darkness and death That is what they had been dishing out, and that is what they will finally obtain. God will let them have their own way, and when they get it, it will be the last thing they want.

Well, the first thing I think of is up and down, respectively. Followed shortly thereafter by white and red. And fluffy clouds and fire. But then, I sort of stopped concentrating on other people's conceptualisations of both heaven and hell when I was quite young, so I suppose that's why these are the things I'm stuck with :o)

Hell is the b/s you have to put up with here on earth. Like the smelly guy who answered your question. Heaven is like:
A sunny day, no pain, everything is going right, your favorite food, your parents not bothering you, peace not war, and anything else your heart could desire. The most peaceful place you could ever think of where a want or need is not a question, it's there.

Hell is full of suffering. It is the absense of God. If you were a glutton you will probly be starved to death for all of eternity. IF you had lust you will have your flesh torn off of you over and over again. Forever. If you are a liar you will have red hot pokers pressed against your tounge. I dunno..something to that effect at least.
Heavenon the other hand is eternal rest. BEing in the presence of God. Forever. It is the beatific vision. Its perfect. Eternal bliss. If you felt the happiness now, that you will feel in heaven, it would kill you.

The old monk sat by the side of the road. With his eyes closed, his legs crossed and his hands folded in his lap, he sat. In deep meditation, he sat.
Suddenly his zazen was interrupted by the harsh and demanding voice of a samurai warrior. "Old man! Teach me about heaven and hell!"
At first, as though he had not heard, there was no perceptible response from the monk. But gradually he began to open his eyes, the faintest hint of a smile playing around the corners of his mouth as the samurai stood there, waiting impatiently, growing more and more agitated with each passing second.
"You wish to know the secrets of heaven and hell?" replied the monk at last. "You who are so unkempt. You whose hands and feet are covered with dirt. You whose hair is uncombed, whose breath is foul, whose sword is all rusty and neglected. You who are ugly and whose mother dresses you funny. You would ask me of heaven and hell?"
The samurai uttered a vile curse. He drew his sword and raised it high above his head. His face turned to crimson and the veins on his neck stood out in bold relief as he prepared to sever the monk's head from its shoulders.
"That is hell," said the old monk gently, just as the sword began its descent.
In that fraction of a second, the samurai was overcome with amazement, awe, compassion and love for this gentle being who had dared to risk his very life to give him such a teaching. He stopped his sword in mid-flight and his eyes filled with grateful tears.
"And that," said the monk, "is heaven."

Hell would be like Newark airport, but filled with crazy religious people. Heaven would be like a library with information and people worthy of sharing it with. Of course, neither one exists, so this is purely academic.
