Try a 'jar opener', if you haven't already. This can be either the rubber stuff with the litter rectangles cut in it (anti-slip, it comes in a roll and some people put it under their cutting boards to prevent it from slipping) or an actual store bought no-slip jar opener.
If that doesn't work, you could try popping the seal by sliding a butter knife under the lid and pushing down until you hear a 'pop'. Basically use the knife as a crowbar. The only drawback from this is sometimes the lid gets damaged.
Enjoy the salsa!

Put the jar in the freezer for a minute, then run the lid ONLY under super hot tap water. The glass contracts from the cold, the lid expands from the heat, thus loosening the lid enough to turn. Don't leave the jar in the freezer more than a minute, though, b/c the contrast in temperatures can cause the glass to break. You want it to get cooler, not freeze.

Try to slide a knife along the seal of the lid. It should release the air, and then the jar should open easily. Also try a rubber-band around the lid to give you extra grip.

Fill the sink with a inch or two with hot water. Tun the jar upside down and let it sit in there for several minutes. It will open no problem.

Two options:
1: Run hot water over the lid for a minute or two
2: take a butter knife or other blunt, heavy tool and strike the side of the lid at a tangent to the way you want it to turn.

take a spoon and boil just the bottom of it in water, not the handle. then use that to pry the jar open. this works well. all you need is that warmed part of the spoon and the shape is perfect for prying jars open. the heat given off by the spoon is the key. i hope this helps!!! don't burn yourself now.

If you have some loose rubber hands here and there in your home, grab them by handfull and apply all your pressure on lid, it will open like a butter will pierce a knife! Got it. It's ok to be upside down once in a while.
